"Rang-Tang"

Day 2 of our Milwaukee weekend consisted of the best zoo I have ever been to- Milwaukee County Zoo! It is a wonderful zoo and I look forward to going every year. This was the girls' first time to the zoo and I know they had a blast!

The girls at the start of the day- we almost didn't bring the double stroller but it was a good thing we did. It is a huge zoo with lots of walking and Ry got pretty tired walking so it was nice that she could ride and we didn't have to carry her all over.

Rylee loves the aquatic exhibits. She gravitates towards them wherever we go. She wanted to swim in the big tank with the fish adn was a little ticked that she couldn't. The weather was quite warm outside and this exhibit was dark and cool. It was a great break from the heat and Quinnie was so comfortable she took a little snooze- Daddy must have made 100 laps around it so Quinnie could sleep.

I know it looks like Quinnie is upside down, but I took the picture from behind and above the stroller- hence the wierd angles. She slept about 40 minutes total which was a good thing. She woke up not long after we left the aquatic exhibit and just in time for the pony ride.

Rylee loves horses and was very happy to get to ride the ponies. Look at the big smile- how she fell in love with horses I don't know but she is head over heels for them.

Quinnie loved the elephant exhibit- there were two elephants but she seemed to only want to pay attention to Ruth- the smaller of the elephants but the boss of them. Sounds a little like Quinnie at this point.

I think Ry's favorite part of the day was when she got to go for a camel ride. She had the choice of riding with Mom or riding alone- I guess I wasn't cool enough to ride with her. She told me she was a "big girl" and could do it alone. Wow- Momma kinda had hurt feelings for a second. If you all remember she rode a camel with Grandpa Williamson when they went to the circus so she was familiar with what to do. $4 and one lap later, the camel ride was over but Ry had a smile for the rest of the day-almost.

As we were about to leave the park Ry managed to cut her leg on a button that is on the stroller frame. All of a sudden she was screaming and Chris and I had no idea what was going on until she screamed she was bleeding. It ended up being a pretty good cut that was deep and required lots of bandages. Not enough for stitches, but enough to make Mom and Dad feel so bad that we hit the gift shop and she got a treat. She ended up picking an orangutan that she got to stuff- like a build a bear thing. She enjoyed it and ended up naming it "Rang-Tang". Quite original huh? He kept her company the rest of the trip.

Are we there yet? I can't see Bernie!!

Every Year we head off to Milwaukee for a weekend of ballgames. This year, we combined it for Chris' 31st birthday and a family getaway. We left Friday at 10am and headed for the land of Beer. The girls did very well on the way down- taking naps and reading books. We did a quick stop for lunch in the car (Quinnie fell asleep) and continued on. We made it just about to the hotel- 10 minutes away when Quinnie lost it and was ready to get out of the car. She was screaming her little head off and we couldn't do anything to make it better- the freeway was a parking lot. After a stressful 15 minutes, we were at the hotel and able to stretch our legs and relax for a bit.

Rylee having her first sight of Miller Park! Can you tell she's excited? She LOVES the Brewers and will tell you that Cory Hart is her guy!

Rylee and Daddy at the entry to Miller Park
As we were parking- the Hotdog, Brat, and Polish Sausage were out walking around and Rylee really wanted to get her picture taken with them but as we got closer to the park they of course went in and were getting ready for the Big Race.

Momma and Quinnie at Miller Park! We were going to get Quinnie a shirt prior to the game but ran out of time so we bought one inside- Rylee said Quinnie's guy is JJ Hardy so that is the shirt she ended up.
I absolutely love this picture of Rylee and Chris walking into Miller Park. They both LOVE the Brewers and watch the games together all the time. It is such a Daddy time thing for them both. Ask Rylee anything about the Brewers and she could probably tell you.

Quinn's face is priceless-She was actually watching the field. The Big Race was about to start. Rylee picked the Hotdog who was winning until the Brat beat him at the end

Our cute little family picture close to the end of the game. Quinnie was a trooper the whole time but started getting tired right before the final inning.

The game got over super late and there was only time for bed when we got back to the hotel. Come to think about it- I think that the girls were sleeping before we even got out of the parking lot. We had a great time and hope to do this every year. I know Rylee had a blast!

Off to sleep as we get ready for day two- Milwaukee County Zoo, Texas Roadhouse, and Kopps' Frozen Custard!

Pepto Pink

Rylee has been bugging me for quite some time now about wanting a pink room. I finally gave in and picked out some cute, PALE, pink at Menards. I don't know what happened- but two different paint cans later it came out more of a Pepto bismal color then the perfumed pink sample I picked out. It's a bit much but Rylee loves it. We have soem cute brown and dark pink decals to put up so maybe that will tame the pverall pinkness down? Probably not!

Enjoying thier new pink room

Work in Progress

For those who don't know already- we are in the middle of a remodling project at our house. Anyone who has ever remodeled knows it is not easy and there are always "intersting" discoveries throughout the process and our house is not the exception to this. We have come to find out that nothing is as it appears or should be so it has been l wee bit challenging to fix everything the "correct" way. Chris has taken on quite a lot with this but in the end we think it will turn out wonderful (or atleast we hope). Our plan is once the remodel is done is to put it up for sale- so if anyone knows of someone who would love to own a cute little hobby farm in an excellent neighborhood- let me know.

Chris and Doug figuring out how the heck the house was wired and how to make it right- took some long thoughts but finally got it to how it should be.

Rylee is quite the handy-woman in the makings. She LOVES the tape measure and is going around the house and measuring everything- and I mean EVERYTHING. It's amazing how everything is the exact same size - 40 pounds? Crazy how that works out! (Rylee says pounds instead of inches and 40 seems to be her preferred number at this time).

The view walking in the front door off the deck. Normally you would see the wall and coats hanging up- but the wall was one of the first things to go. You will enter the house the same way but there is no proch- you will walk into the "entry way" which leads into the rest of the house. I am super excited to see it done as everyone seems to make fun of me for not being able to "see" the plans in the process.

Country Splash!!

Last Friday Miss Kallie and I went to Country Splash in Somerset, WI. It was a great time- little warm but we had a nice, cold rain to cool us down. My main reason for going was to see Lady Antelbellum- and boy was it worth the ticket price. They rocked! And so did everyone else. We decided that Miranda Lambert was also great and worth seeing again.

Kallie making me take pictures of us together- never can do anything without photo proof I guess
The closer- Mr. Kenny was great. Never a let down for sure

Miranda Lambert rocking the stage- she is super spunky and quite funny

My Favorite of the night- Lady Antebellum!!!

Go Brew Crew!!

Over Memorial Weekend the Johnson's invited us to the Twins Vs. Brewers game at the Dome. Both families went-kids and all. We were quite the caravan of stuff. We did a little tail-gating prior to the game and then headed in for the excitement. The Johnson's are Twins fans and we are Brewer fans-of course! Little rivalry between Chris and Bret but all in all everyone had a good time and hope to go again.

Rylee and Daddy at the game. She did pretty well, after she got the cotton candy he promised.

Miss Quinnie and Mommy at the game- people watching and enjoying the action. We could see Ryan Braun really good and he's Mommy's favorite!!

Mmm- I don't know if I like how this tastes

Mommy didn't pick the best day to go play outside for the 1st time. It was Friday of Memorial Weekend and the wind was so strong coming across the fields that at times I thought Quinnie might blow away!! Despite the gale force winds, Quinnie had a good time playing with the grass, picking up sticks and playing with the dogs. Here are a few of the precious moments caught on camera!!

Quinn in the backyard with Monty and Emma looking on. If you look close enough, above her ears you can see the wind blowing her long locks of hair!!

Monty showing Quinnie some love!! She absolutely loves him and lets him do what ever to her- and he allows the same by her. Quinn and Rylee can pretty much do what ever they want to the dogs and they sit there and love every minute of the attention- or almost every minute. They have figured out that if the girls are a bit too much, they can get up and move and for the most part the girls can't go after them. Smart dogs!!

Of course I put everything in my mouth Mom!!! Anything she can get her hands on goes into her mouth- doesn't matter if its paper, a crayon- or even grass! Wonder how it tastes?

It feels kinda funny and I don't know if I like the taste of it Mom!

Yup- pretty sure it doesn't taste very good!! Mom- can you help me out here!!
Mommy ended up having to do a CPR finger sweep to get the mouth full of grass out before she gagged on it. She was not too impressed with grass after that and neither was Mom. She had a few strands of grass left in her hand and she cried her head off until Mom took them away and then she was fine and her normal smiling self!!!
